Wednesday, April 18th

  • The YCI Camp information meeting is today at lunch in Rm 201. See you there.
  • Yearbooks sales will be cut off soon.  Don’t miss out and buy yours today! There is a list posted outside the office of who has already purchased one.  Cost is $50.
  • Spring has sprung! Room 110 is selling flower & plants. Hanging baskets, potted plants, herbs and vegetables. Orders must be in by April 20th. If you’re thinking of something special for Mother’s Day these are the plants or flowers for you! See any staff in room 110 to place your order or go online at Reynolds website.
  • There is a meeting for the Juan de Fuca trail trip at lunch in room 212B, everyone going on the trip must be there.
  • Congratulations to both the Jr and Sr girls soccer teams on their wins yesterday.  
  • Jr Girls Soccer team have a brief meeting at the beginning of lunch in Annex C to arrange rides for their game tomorrow. (Courtenay C)
  • Grad council we are meeting right away at the start of lunch in Annex A
  • Just a quick reminder that the library will be hosting another musical open mic next Tuesday at lunchtime. Staff and students are welcome to attend or perform.at Music in the Dark – Part Deux!

Tuesday, April 17th

  • Today at lunch hour, Reynolds PAC is hosting an appreciation lunch for all teachers and staff in the school.  As parents, we want you to know how much you are appreciated and to thank you for your dedication and care in educating our children. Students, today (and any day!) is the perfect opportunity to take a moment to say “thank you!” to the staff here at Reynolds.  It is two simple words that mean a lot. Staff there will be fresh coffee so please bring a cup or mug.
  • Grad council we meet today at 11:45 in the soccer annex.
  • It’s B-A-C-K! Music in the Dark – Part Deux, will be taking place next Tuesday, April 24th, at lunchtime in the library. We provide a guitar, a P.A. and an audience, while you provide the talent and any other instrument you’d prefer to play at the open mic. Staff & students are most welcome. Any questions should be directed to handsome Mr. Leischner! We’ll see you on the 24th!
  • Attention all YCI club members and any students who are interested in attending Youth For Change and Inclusion Camp at the beginning of May. This overnight camp is an amazing 3 days of speakers, group work and fun, with the goal of encouraging you to seek to make a difference in your school and the community. Come see what it is all about tomorrow at lunch in 201.
  • Just a reminder! It’s the last day to sign up for the intramural ultimate frisbee game tomorrow~
  • There will be a meeting at lunch tomorrow for Juan De Fuca Hikers. All must be in attendance for this meeting in Room 212B at lunch tomorrow.

Monday, April 16th

  • TALE Applications are due this week.  Please come to the Career Centre if you intend to take advantage of this opportunity
  • The Vancouver International University Fair is happening on Sunday, April 29th.  A bus will be provided from the Tsawwassen terminal to the venue and back again to come home.  Parents are welcome to attend this event. If you are interested in seeing whats out there, come to the Career Centre to sign up.  We must confirm bus passengers by today
  • U-start applications are due April 20th ~ please have them complete and handed into the Career Centre by Wednesday April 18th.
  • Vocal Jazz meeting with Fiona in room 143 at lunch today
  • Reynolds Refundables Drive- This week! Bring your bottles, cans, milk and juice jugs to the upper foyer to support the Reynold Water Walk Campaign. All proceeds go to building sustainable water wells in rural communities- Leadership
  • Wanna have lots of fun with your friends? Come to the intramural ultimate frisbee on Wednesday and Thursday lunch in the gym! Sign up sheet is on the gym door~
  • Haro woods Open House– Tuesday April 17 5:30 to 8pm at Goward House. Drop in to review and give a public opinion on the key issues surrounding the park, and learn about proposed plans for the future. Flyers in the office.

Friday, April 13th

  • Do you need a little help with your studies but don’t want to hire and pay a tutor? Bring something to work on and come to Study Club on Fridays after school in the Upper Foyer and we’ll pay you… with healthy snacks!
  • Strength and conditioning class takes place today 1:20pm in the fitness studio
  • Golfers! Reminder to be at Cedar Hill today after school. See Mr Loukes if you can’t attend.
  • Come and support the SPCA and get some delicious treats!  Every day this week you can come to the foyer at lunch and buy bake sale items to help this great cause. –
  • Bottles, Cans, cleaned milk jugs! Bring in your refundables to the main foyer next week to support the Reynolds Walk for Water Campaign to provide sustainable water wells to rural communities that do not have access to clean water – Leadership
  • Blue Band & Drumline – Reminder to pick up your music, instrument, and sticks from the band room today AFTER SCHOOL. Please meet at Lakehill Little League at 10:15am on Satuday.
  • R&B Band Rehearsals are Cancelled today after school.
  • Green Band – All students traveling to Edmonton, please come to the band room after school for a brief meeting.

Thursday April 12th

  • Want some free food and play fun games? Come to the upper foyer at lunch today for Global Cafe, the theme this week is Italy
  • Congratulations to the slam poetry teams who came 2nd and 3rd at Victorious Voices last night! They are off to the provincial slam championships next week!
  • The staff and students ice hockey game is this Friday at Pearkes arena.  Come for the free food and door prizes, but stay for the game! Will Ms. Puckett toe drag her way to glory?  Will Mrs. Kelly snipe a clapper and dish apples? Find out Friday…the game starts at 2:30. There is a very short  mandatory meeting for all players and volunteers right now in room 201.
  • Salad Bar Thursday is today in the lower foyer.
  • Come and support the SPCA and get some delicious treats!  Every day this week you can come to the foyer at lunch and buy bake sale items to help this great cause. 
  • Are you looking for a way to earn extra volunteer hours and are willing to teach a specific academic subject area? Please sign up in the Career Centre or Student Services to become a Peer Tutor!
  • There is a brief meeting of grade 9 and 10 badminton team members in room 214 at the lunch bell
  • Do you want to do something different at lunch next Wednesday and Thursday?  Come and play intramural ultimate frisbee! Sign up sheet is on the gym doors.  Teams of four or more players.
  • Strength and conditioning class takes place this Friday after school.  
  • Theatre 11/12 students from first and second semester who are interested in being part of a public performance for June should attend a short meeting after school in the theatre.
  • Congratulations to the Reynolds Vocal Jazz students that performed at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival this morning at Oak Bay-they had an outstanding performance and and did a fantastic job representing the Reynolds music program!

Wednesday April 11th

  • Staff and students, you may have noticed that our school flag is currently at half-mast. This is to recognize the passing of Equimalt nations Chief, Chief Andy Thomas. All school in school district #61 will have their flags at half-mast until the end of the day Thursday.
  • Tomorrow we would ask that the Reynolds School Community join with schools and teams across Canada in wearing a sport jersey, or green and gold or school colours to show support for the community of Humboldt Saskatchewan and those families affected when the Humboldt Broncos Junior
  • A Hockey bus was involved in a devastating accident.  Thank you for your support.
  • Grad Wear is available for pick up for the first 30 minutes of lunch in the foyer. Come and get your grad wear! Speaking of grads, you have got a grad council meeting at 11:45 in Annex A and don’t forget the Grad assembly tomorrow morning at 8:30 in the theatre.
  • Did you want to experience new types of food from different countries? Listen to some music? And play some games? Well,come to Global Cafe at the main foyer at lunch tomorrow, the theme is Italy this week!
  • Are you interested touring a Japanese exchange student in our school next week? Earn volunteer hours, learn about another country AND you could even get a chance to go on exchange at a huge discount! See Ms. Flater in Student Services for more info.

Tuesday April 10th

  • On Thursday April 12th we would ask that the Reynolds School Community join with schools and teams across Canada in wearing a sport jersey, or green and gold or school colours to show support for the community of Humboldt Saskatchewan and those families affected when the Humboldt Broncos Junior A Hockey bus was involved in a devastating accident.  Thank you for your support.
  • Congrats to the TWO Reynolds slam poetry teams for making the finals at Victorious Voices last night. The finals are on Wednesday evening at the Victoria Event Centre for anyone who wants to come cheer the teams and boo the judges!

  • Today, today, today is your first chance to see the senior boys rugby team in action at Reynolds!  Rugby 7s games are short, fast, and high scoring so the entertainment value is excellent. The boys would love to have lots of support on the sidelines…come and cheer them on today after school.
  • All ice hockey players must have their forms in by the end of the day WEDNESDAY to ensure their spot on the roster.

  • Grads reminder that there is a grad assembly this Thursday at 8:30 am in the theatre. We will be voting on the class valedictorian as well as grad song. So be there if you want to vote

  • Film and TV meets at lunch in Room 138 today–across the lower hallway from the Theatre.
  • It’s B-A-C-K. On Tuesday, April 24th, the Reynolds Library will once again play host to ‘Music in the Dark’ part deux. Staff & students are invited to drop by at lunch to serenade us with a song or two. We supply the P.A. and a guitar, you provide the talent and any other instrument you wish to play.

Monday April 9th

  • Encounters with Canada 2018-19.  Registration is now open for the 2018/19 school year.  Early bird discounts for the first 3 theme weeks, Arts and culture, Law and Sports and fitness are available if applied for before June 30th. Information is in the Career Centre.
  • Grads- the student transcript service experienced an update which may have affected your selected post secondary choices.  Please log into your account and check that the information there is correct.
  • Lakehill little league needs volunteers for their upcoming spring opening event.  It is Saturday, April 14th. The maximum time requirement is 3 hrs and it starts at 10:45 am.  If you can help out please come to the Career Centre for more information.
  • Do you like free food?  Do you like free gift cards?  Do you like to watch your teachers fall down onto hard surfaces?  Well if you answered yes to at least one of those questions then you need to come to watch the staff vs students ice hockey game this FRIDAY from 2:30-3:30 at Pearkes arena.  A reminder that anyone interested in playing in the game must have their forms returned to Mr. McDonald by this WEDNESDAY to ensure their spot on the roster.
  • There is a Leadership meeting today at lunch in room 32.  Please arrive asap as we have guest speakers today.
  • Mr.Vizers English Class clothing drive will be in the foyer everyday this week! We will be collecting clothes for Our Place Society – Isabella Yarrow
  • There will be Volleyball after school today and Wednesday in the gym for any student interested in playing.

Friday April 6th

  • Congratulations to the boys 7s rugby team for their great results yesterday.  The boys tied powerhouse Oak Bay and beat Royal Bay. Your first chance to see the team play a home match is Tues. April 10. Way to go Reynolds rugby!
  • Quick reminder that the Reynolds sailing team is having a meeting in room 218 at lunch today

Thursday April 5th

  • U-start applications are due April 20th ~ please have them complete and handed into the Career Centre by Wednesday April 18th.
  • Hockey! Hockey!  Hockey! The staff and students ice hockey game is next Friday.  Come for the free food! Come for the free door prizes! Come for the opportunity to see Mr. Campbell flop around like fish out of water!  Anyone wanting to play in the game can pick up forms in the main office.
  • Students partaking in the hike along the Juan De Fuca Trail April 19th-22nd are reminded of the meeting today at lunch in Room 212B – that’s Mr. Campbell’s room. Also, there are still spots available for those interested in joining us for this West Coast experience. See you there.
  • The Reynolds sailing team will be having a quick meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 218. Last chance to bring in your money and forms!

Wednesday April 4th
