Parents, do you have a health benefits package through your employer? If so, your teenager could have access to FREE counselling services or resources through an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The Reynold’s PAC recommends you give your teenager all the information they need to contact your EAP anytime they need to talk to someone confidentially. Contact your EAP and find out what your teenager needs to access their services. Provide your child the phone number, website address, username and password as well as any other information the EAP provider requires. Better yet, have your teen enter the information directly into their cell phone for easy access or post it on the fridge.
EAPs are confidential resource programs to help you and your dependents manage personal issues at work or at home. Counselling is available 24 hours per day 7 days a week for life challenges such as: depression, addiction & recovery, stress, step family dynamics and grief & loss to name a few.
